There are these fantastic old buses in Malta. Some of them were made in the 1950’s. I decided to have an adventure and went on a bus to Valleta where I visited the Grand Harbour and walked through some fantastic streets.
Valleta was built by the Knights of St John.
The Knights made Malta there base in the 14th Century (about 1500). Next I caught a bus to Rabat or Mdina. This is the old walled capital city of Malta. I then caught another bus back to St Julians. Malta is part of the European Community and the money we use is euro’s. The bus fares wer very cheap. It only cost 1/2 a euro to go from Valleta to Mdina. Unfortunately the would’t let bears go more cheaply

Yesterday (Saturday) Barnaby went to Gozo and had a very exciting timePosted by: barnaby in MaltaYesterday (Saturday) I went to Gozo. Its a very small island next to Malta. It is a very pretty island and the capital is a walled city called Rabat. I went diving again. That was exciting. I have not been diving since I went with Mr. Farmer to Egypt. We went to a small coastal village called Xlendi (pronounced Slendi). On one of the dives I went through a cave. Yes a cave. Wow. It was very dark and a bit frightening but after a little bit of swimming yoiu could see the opening at the other end. In the afternoon we walked around the capital city Rabat. I will show some photographs this evening. Today (Sunday) we plan to visit Valletta …the capital of Malta and then go Mdina …the old capital. Here are some photographs. |
